How can that be since we as Christian women pray, fellowship and worship as if we know this very common truth? If we are God's greatest creation( we are!) then why do we miss opportunities to walk in the power He has given?

"I'm messed up" some one replied. How can I be a credible source of power for others when I have made so many mistakes? We see in this statement how common a reaction this is for all of us have felt messed up, broken, misguided and lost. But it is within those darkest moments that God shines His Magnificent light! Meditation allows us to see that light and in the quietness of the moment we see things from a different perspective. God can only use us in our imperfect state. 1.) HE is the only perfect one, 2.)Our experiences makes us credible for the next person to see how great God is by bringing "you" through. So in your brokenness you are strong, powerful and capable to do God's work the way He intended for you!

Personal time between a husband and wife is essential for the covenant relationship to flourish. That means NO children! Did I stutter?! Nope, part of the process of living a more balanced fulfilled life is keeping close ties with those that create a sense of peace and love. Its those sacred relationships that allow us to live longer and age gracefully. God is so AWESOME!

As for those very challenging teenage daughters.... PRAY ~ Then Act! Act with patience and tolerance with a stern understanding from "little women" what the prevailing expectations are as well as the consequences for non compliance. Why stern? WE are preparing our daughters for womanhood in a society that still has its rules for unruly behavior, disrespect and illegal activities. If we allow our daughters to not abide by house rules they will most definitely buck societies rules ~ spoken and unspoken. Which, ultimately will drag our girls into a world of anguish.

Admonishment with love is God's way mixed with punishment, reward, responsibility and tough love. Don't worry, in about 25 years, the affects of tough love mellows and our daughters will thank us for the wisdom to buck their attitudes, even though we fought back the tears when they tried buck us. And soon enough, they will be mothers with the same issues armed with the same love, power and resolve that God gave us all.

Isn't it wonderful how God allows us to revisit ideas, concepts and wisdom! To those women who were present at the last meditation hour do share your insight. We are our sister's keeper. The process was spiritually uplifting , yet intrusive. In a very subtle, yet profound way I was stretched to new limits of what I did not know I was capable of. As we grow as stronger women of God we learn the true meaning of service, life dedication and commitment to the cause of "Greater Service Greater Progress". To that end we can evolve and become beacons of light for others. Yet, in that quest we must remember to be true also to not only the sisterhood, but also to ourselves. To be true to yourself you must know yourself. In 2009 The Reid Stress Management Center for Women has reaffirmed a commitment to all women to get to know ourselves~ Mind, Body & Spirit. Join us during meditation hour, get a massage or reflexology treatment, hot stone pampering, weight loss and more. More importantly, share the wealth of health with other sisters to be true to your pledge.

Want to regain that girlish shapely figure in 10 minutes or lose 1,2,3 dress sizes???

Please do share your experiences in the sisterhood!

Father's Day... A woman's point of growth

Father's Day can invoke so many memories, regrets & and longings. Often times we as women don't really embrace the concept of honoring "Father's Day. For many, dad was not around, baby daddy ain't acting right or the man in our life seems to be missing the mark. We also allow those interactions to consciously and subconsciously shape how we respond, choose and interact with our men. Wow... that's heavy right?
Our last meditation dealt with these ideas and we collectively came to realize that we are and can choose to see ourselves as a reflection of the positives we have experienced with the men in our lives. The path we choose now as women has nothing to do with someone else's actions; we are responsible for our own. We when own up to that we can no longer use our men as an excuse to why we have not achieved, believed or embraced life and love as God intended. We are the master of our own destiny and we CAN embrace the good in every man, and learn from the choices we made all the while celebrating father's day void of hate, ridicule, frustration and remorse. To not do that, rejects a part of ourselves. We are all connected ~ remember? To choose to look at Father's Day as a celebration of what can be, calls us to be honest enough with ourselves to look at things through the eye ware of reality. Reality is... Love is in everything, everybody and everywhere. We choose to embrace the path which best serves us. So, what best serves you? "...he done me wrong song"~ or "I have learned love in this relationship..."
Until Next Time... Some topics came up about hurt, emotional blockage and illness surrounding the pain of childhood sexual abuse. Women from 25 through 50 groaned in unison as the petition for prayer was raised for that particular healing. Healing... are we really healed from such a traumatic experience? Or do we suffer in silence and allow the pain to fester behind a smile, all the while proliferating in our hearts, minds, spirits and bodies to transform itself into the bondage of cancer, diabetes, heart conditions and more? Why do we suffer in silence? When does the healing begin. Our next workshop will delve into those questions and yes the Reid Center is equiped to launch it's first support group!
Do you have answers to these questions. Please share with others your breakthroughs, journey, sorrows and triumphs. We need healing in this area of our lives. It's time to pull the cover off of this subject and allow the light of God to burn it up. I'm not a fan of the Pope, but even he has conceded that enough is enough!

Until Next Time.. Can stress really affect behavior reasoning, academic performance and social interaction s with parents and peers? Of course!
Some teens become overloaded with stress. When it happens, inadequately managed stress can lead to anxiety, withdrawal, aggression, physical illness, or poor coping skills such as drug and/or alcohol use.
When we perceive a situation as difficult or painful, changes occur in our minds and bodies to prepare us to respond to danger. This "fight, flight, or freeze” response includes faster heart and breathing rate, increased blood to muscles of arms and legs, cold or clammy hands and feet, upset stomach and/or a sense of dread.
The same mechanism that turns on the stress response can turn it off. As soon as we decide that a situation is no longer dangerous, changes can occur in our minds and bodies to help us relax and calm down. This "relaxation response” includes decreased heart and breathing rate and a sense of well being. Teens that develop a "relaxation response” and other stress management skills feel less helpless and have more choices when responding to stress.

Stress and Infertility

One of God's most precious gifts is our ability to create new life! It can also be the worst time of year if your relationships are not quit on the right foot.
So how do we deal with the stress of the holiday romantic blues? Be open with your partner. Don't expect anyone to read your mind. Most of all be honest with your self and your expectations. Often times, what ever issues we have had in our relationships during the holiday season was already there. We can get more frustrated and agitated if we try to put on "phony" faces. Reality is relationship problems do not take a holiday during the Holiday Season, They get worse...
Remove the added stress by evaluating the direction of the relationship before you must put on fake smiles and die inside. A little communication can go a long way when the balance is leaning toward "scroogeville". Express yourself openly, and allow your partner to do the same. Once you get it all out you can see past the issues to a viable solution to bring in the new year on a fresh note. I see some remarkable changes such as increased energy, very clear skin, healthy longer nails ( although I must cut them to work on clients), increased clarity and focus. I am working out now also at Lynn bricks. I used my experia concentrate during my work out and I find myself lasting longer. I used to do 15 minutes on the tread climber and 20 on the tread mill. Now its 30/45. I actually have to force myself to stop.... I do have to work ( smile)
Any results anyone want to share.
